In her own words

50 years and counting
Fashion is the love of my life
It is truly incredible how quickly time can pass when you absolutely love your work. All the bumps and creases fade into the background.
Yes there will be tears and there will be pain but there will be joy too...
Struggling with my small family and too proud to ask for help, I started my little tailoring shop in 1970.
Little did I know my story had just started.
The time flew and unbelievably I have completed more than 50 years in the fashion industry.
From Seamstress to Fashion designer, a journey I wouldn’t change for anything.
Very quietly the years had slipped by and as I sat in my favourite corner with a cup of coffee, my mind went back and back and back to the weepy, sensitive, girl I was.
I had a stammer. Talking was difficult, and making a mundane call to the airport was a task so large that I shook with nerves at the thought.
I grew up, i had to, with two children, and many hurdles. I  learnt it was safest to depend only on myself. With no college degree, just determination, I did the only thing I knew how. Kept a tailor in my verandah and stitched clothes for my friends. Soon after in 1972 I set up a bespoke designing and tailoring store in my garage. The rest just happened! Collection to the next collection!

“Dance with fashion and there will always be music in your life.”

Fast forward 50 years to 2023 and I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude to the friends and family who pushed, prodded, scolded and helped me along a very exciting journey.
My message to all women is that even though the road to success is not easy, your conviction, determination, courage and faith will get u there. There will be moments when u feel like giving up. Don't!
Discover yourself, trust your instincts and work hard.
It will happen.
